A team needs to win 2 out of 3 games to win the match. If a player wins the first round and ties the next 2 rounds this is still considered a match win as they have won the majority of the rounds in the match. League teams are permitted to miss one match within the 7 week span, 7 day notice is required. The team is allowed to make-up their missed match if desired.TIE-BREAKERS
A Big Axe round is played in sudden death fashion in the event of a tie. If one team has a ‘good’ throw and the other a ‘bad’ throw, the good throw wins the match. In the event of both teams throwing a ‘good’ throw, they must throw again. If both players throw a good throw THREE TIMES IN A ROW, they then revert to the device scoring system (‘Points’ are live and majority rules);EQUIPMENT
Hatchet Haus Axe Throwing provides all necessary tools and equipment to participate in throwing axes. Guests are not permitted to bring their own axes.ALTERNATES
Alternates are permitted if the individual is currently a league member. Hatchet Haus Axe Throwing can attempt to find an alternate if the team cannot source a member.GAME PLAY
Players generally use Rock-Paper-Scissors to choose lane, best 2 of 3 to throw first. Players may ‘opt out’ of Rock-Paper-Scissors effectively giving the lane choice to the other player. Players get 3 practice throws before their first match of the night. After warm up throws are complete but before a match officially begins, players perform a courtesy clinking of axe heads, side against side:SCORING
1. The bullseye (on or within the black ring) is worth 5 pts;
2. On or within the red ring is worth 3 pts;
3. On or within the blue ring is worth 1 pt;
4. The green dot in each corner, or Clutch(TM*) is worth 7 pts.If the axe strikes the target, sticks, and then falls out of the target, it is worth zero points, even if it sticks in for a moment. In the event of confusion of score, a device is used to determine the point value of an axe that has landed between two point areas. This device can only be used by a third party, nobody actively in a match can use it.
